To catch the predator you must understand their prey. For trout, that means having an idea on the bugs present in our local streams and how to find them. Identifying them in the water as well as in the air can be difficult for beginners. Learning some easy tricks will make this task much easier and bring you more success on the water. Once you are able to identify the bugs available throughout the seasons, we can then learn to better pair the flies in your box to what insects are most abundant.
